Hey! My name is John and I’m really grateful that you found this blog. I hope it serves you well by inspiring you to live for Jesus and pursue deep change in your life.
I currently serve as the Pastor of Restoration City Church in Arlington, VA. My wife, Laura, and I led the team of people who planted RCC in 2014 and still love this church as much, if not more, than the day we started. Before planting Restoration City, I spent a year with The Summit Church in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. They were our sending church and we’re still actively involved in the Summit Collaborative. Prior to all of that, I worked at McLean Bible Church for ten years as the Pastor of The Gathering (MBC’s college ministry) and the Teaching Pastor of Frontline (MBC’s young adult ministry). I did my undergrad at Georgetown and earned my m.Div from Fuller Theological Seminary. Oh, and we have three kids who are more full of life than I ever thought possible.
That’s all the stuff I’m expected to tell you.
But here’s what I really want you to know: it means a lot to me that you would invest some of your time in following this blog. I want to honor that by sharing content that helps you follow Jesus well, experience real growth and change in your life, and make a difference in the world. If I can do all of that and make you laugh, that’s a real win!
